Position Summary

We are seeking a passionate, organized, and creative Youth Program Director to lead youth leadership development, young adult, internship, and summer programming.

This is a high-impact leadership position responsible for building meaningful relationships with youth and young adults, developing community partnerships, overseeing program operations, and creating opportunities that support personal, professional, and leadership development.

The ideal candidate is passionate about youth development, possesses strong leadership and organizational skills, and can balance big-picture vision with the day-to-day details necessary to successfully execute programs.

Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership – 60%

  • Manage student recruitment, applications, hiring, onboarding, and tracking for leadership development programs and employment opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with partner organizations, nonprofits, schools, and community organizations for student recruitment and employment opportunities.
  • Manage young adult programming, including recruitment, participant support, disciplinary matters, housing checks, monthly participant check-ins, and coordination of available resources.
  • Develop strategies for maintaining relationships with program participants after they complete the program.
  • Establish partnerships with local organizations to create employment opportunities for youth and young adults.
  • Lead summer youth programming, including orientation, weekly schedules, field trips, classes, special events, and end-of-summer celebrations.
  • Recruit, coordinate, and delegate volunteers supporting youth programming.
  • Ensure programs are delivered in a safe, organized, engaging, and supportive environment.

Strategic Program Planning, Oversight & Development – 20%

  • Develop and implement short- and long-term goals for the growth and development of youth programs.
  • Create systems that allow participants to progress through programs in a cohesive and intentional manner.
  • Oversee curriculum development and improvement using participant feedback, internal data, program observations, research, and youth-development best practices.
  • Develop and maintain the annual youth program calendar.
  • Collaborate with communications and marketing team members to promote youth programs through websites, social media, flyers, and other communications.
  • Collect and communicate participant success stories and program impact.
  • Develop and manage the youth program budget in collaboration with the Finance Director.
  • Track and maintain program data necessary for impact reporting, grant applications, and organizational evaluation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve program efficiency, participant outcomes, and community impact.

Internship Program Leadership – 20%

  • Lead intern recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, and placement.
  • Coordinate with staff to ensure interns receive appropriate training, guidance, and supervision.
  • Support the daily management and development of interns.
  • Create an environment that provides meaningful learning and professional development opportunities.

  • Passion for working with youth and contributing to positive community development.
  • Ability to move and lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Education & Experience

  • Experience in youth development, education, nonprofit programming, community development, mentoring, leadership development, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience managing programs, teams, volunteers, or community partnerships preferred.
  • Experience working with young adults and/or youth employment programs is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $50,000 annually
