The AMP Is Here
Last week, I reported on a leak for an upcoming portable amp from Teenage Engineering, the EP-35 K.O. AMP. That is indeed a real thing and it’s available now.

We can now confirm that it has six inputs and a summing mix signal path, meaning you can pay all instruments at the same time. It’s got a USB 2.0 audio interface, a guitar input with low/high gain settings, XLR mic input with 48V phantom power, eight presets for the guitar and mic effects, stereo line in and out, Bluetooth with LE audio and a broadcast mode, a built-in battery that you charge with USB-C, a storage compartment with light and a handle.
AMP Accessories
It wouldn’t be Teenage Engineering if there weren’t also a bunch of cute accessories available, and boy, have they gone hog wild this time. Many of these are designed to extend the usefulness of the amp via the USB port, what they’re calling EP-Play.

The fanciest one is undoubtedly the EP-127 K.O. Pedal, a wireless guitar and voice pedal controller for the K.O. AMP. It’s got two large pressure-sensitive buttons that rock back and forth for expression. You can use it with the amp to tweak the effects or with your computer as a MIDI or HID video controller. It also works over Bluetooth and features a looper and a metronome.
Here are the rest of the accessories if you’ve got some extra cash from Grandma for the holidays:
Amptenna: Plugs into the EP-Plug port and turns your amp into an FM radio.
Handy Mic: XLR mic with a push-to-talk button.
16GB USB Drive: Comes preloaded with two side. Side A has instrumental tracks for jamming over, while side B includes drum loops, live breaks and electronic beats. Plug it into the AMP and playback just starts. You can put your own audio files on it too.
K.O. Dock Kit: Connect one full-size or two half-size EP–series devices directly to the EP–35 grill. Includes four clips and a 90mm stereo TRS cable for connecting your EP device to the line input.
K.O. AMP Add-on Bundle: Bundle with the Handy Mic, K.O. Dock Kit, USB Drive and Amptenna.
K.O. AMP 35 Eyelet Bag
K.O. AMP 35 Pocket Bag
K.O. Amp 35 Strap
K.O. Amp 35 Cylinder Case
Guitar Textile Cable 3M
Seems like Teenage Engineering missed a trick by not releasing a camping-focused product before summer, but I’m sure it will be a hit for the holidays too.

Leak: Does TE Have a Portable Amp on the Way?
[15 October 2026] Filings suggest Teenage Engineering is at work on a battery-powered portable amp. Called EP-35 K.O.-AMP, it can take guitar, microphone and instrument inputs and even offers Bluetooth. The campsite will never be quiet again.
Teenage Engineering EP-35 K.O. AMP
Teenage Engineering’s founder and CEO Jesper Kouthoofd recently revealed the company is planning to stop making synthesizers. They didn’t say anything about amplifiers though. Based on an FCC filing that recently showed up on Reddit, that’s what the company apparently has cooking.

Called EP-35 K.O. AMP, it’s a plastic portable amplifier and speaker box complete with a storage compartment and built-in effects.
Teenage Engineering EP-35 K.O. AMP: What a Knock Out
Part of the EP line of gear that also includes the ultra-popular EP-133 K.O. II Sampler, this new K.O.-AMP matches the latter in color and style, with a plastic body, removable grilles on front and back, and a handle at the top.

According to the manual, the speaker pair includes a 30-watt woofer and 25-watt tweeter, with a frequency response of 50Hz-20Khz (although this could change).
Conveniently, the K.O. AMP is splash proof. “Enjoy it outdoors,” says the manual. “Still, do not drop K.O.-AMP in a lake or a pool.” That would end the party real fast.
Teenage Engineering EP-35 K.O. AMP: Inputs Aplenty
The K.O. AMP is not just for guitars. It can take all kinds of audio, and conveniently, you don’t need to select an active input. “So gather all the family, friends and play!”

On the top of the unit, there are separate jacks for line in (3.5mm), guitar and XLR microphone, plus a USB-C port for computer and phone as a sound card or for software updates. Yes, you can update the amp.
There’s also an EP-Plug port for connecting USB devices like a thumb drive and other EP accessories.
Other controls on the top include a microphone effects dial and amount dial, plus guitar effects and amounts dials. The manual doesn’t say what kinds of effects are included.
There’s also a multi-function button for cycling through audio on the thumb drive, an FM radio (one of the EP accessories, perhaps?), or audio on a Bluetooth device.
Teenage Engineering EP-35 K.O. AMP: Storage Compartment
It wouldn’t be a TE product without something quirky and unexpected, and for the K.O. AMP that’s the storage compartment around the back. Remove the rear grille and the storage area is revealed.

There are additional controls hidden here as well, including microphone gain knob, 48V phantom power button, guitar gain, hi mode button, a tone knob, a line in gain knob, and a mute button. You get a camp light here too, which engages automatically when the storage compartment hatch is open.
Teenage Engineering EP-35 K.O. AMP: Battery and Connectivity
As this is clearly intended for outdoor use, there is no mains power. Instead, the amp comes equipped with a Lithium-ion 20.1W battery. Neither charging time nor play time are listed though.
As for connectivity, you get a single 3.5mm stereo line out on the top. The K.O. AMP also offers Bluetooth, as mentioned, but this can work in the outgoing direction too. The Auracast Mode will let you broadcast Bluetooth audio to any other K.O.-AMPs you may have in the vicinity for a multi-speaker experience.
Teenage Engineering EP-35 K.O. AMP: Price and Availability
As this is just an FCC filing, there is no price or availability information as of now. Hopefully, should this come to market, it won’t cost too much as it’s part of the EP series, which has historically been on the affordable side.
We’ll update with new information as we get it.
