The Ferrofish Pulse16 AE is a flexible multichannel ADAT AD/DA converter with 16 channels of analogue I/O, USB connectivity, and SMUX support.
The German manufacturer, Ferrofish, specializes in digital converter technology, providing solutions for studio recording, live sound, and broadcast audio applications. The new Pulse16 AE is the bigger brother to the compact Pulse8 AE launched earlier this year.

The Pulse16 AE is a 1U 19-inch rackmount format AD/DA box with premium ESS converters that provide up to 32-bit 192 kHz conversion. On the front panel, the dual display system gives you a complete I/O metering overview, while the RemoteFish desktop software lets you manage routing and adjust levels.
With 16 TRS inputs and 16 outputs, you have enough channels to route a wide range of signals in and out of your DAW. Whether you plan to do hybrid mixing with a small analogue console or simply use a range of hardware units as software inserts, the Pulse16 AE can be configured to suit your particular workflow.

On the digital side, the Pulse16 AE offers a bank of four ADAT inputs and four outputs, which can be configured for up to 32 channels at 48 kHz, 16 channels at 96 kHz (SMUX2), or 8 channels at 192 kHz (SMUX4). This allows the Pulse16 AE to be used as a high-quality channel splitter for either analogue or ADAT input signals.
Overall, the versatility of the Pulse16 AE is undeniable, with professional-grade conversion, easy-to-use management software, and optional DSP expansion via the DSP stick port. What’s more, there is a built-in headphone preamplifier that gives you crystal clear monitoring when you need it.
