The Fluid Image 212S Subwoofer offers powerful performance with analogue and digital connectivity for a wide range of studio applications.
Fluid Professional has expanded its impressive Image studio monitor line with a dedicated subwoofer, offering complete and accurate low-end reproduction for stereo and multichannel audio systems.
Fluid Image 212S Subwoofer
The design of the Image 212S uses dual opposed 12-inch mechanically-balanced drivers in a force-canceling array that reduces vibrations and maximizes low-end extension, without frequency doubling or masking in the midrange. Constructed with a sealed cabinet, distortion is kept to a minimum while allowing for clear articulation of transients.
Powered by a dual 500W (RMS) amplification system, the Image 212S delivers a maximum SPL of 120 dB with a frequency response that reaches from 110 Hz all the way down to 29 Hz. It’s also designed to fit into any audio setup, with analogue and digital I/O that includes stereo and LFE XLR ins and outs, as well as AES/EBU I/O.

In addition, customization features include +4 dBu and -10 dBv input sensitivity modes, and variable phase and crossover (40-200 Hz) controls. This is particularly useful for fine-tuning the Image 212S to match your current studio environment and monitoring system.
Overall, Fluid has really looked at the demands of engineers mixing in immersive formats and created a subwoofer that is not only powerful and precise but also easy to tweak and configure. Although it’s priced slightly out of the range of the average home studio user, the Image 212S will still perform well in untreated environments.
