Roland KIYOLA KF-25 and KF-20 Digital Pianos: Japanese Woodworking, Scandinavian Design

Roland KIYOLA KF-25

Roland is set to unveil a pair of new high-end digital pianos at NAMM 2026. The KIYOLA KF-25 and KIYOLA KF-20 combine Japanese craftsmanship and technology with timeless Scandinavian design.

The KIYOLA series stands for artisan digital pianos built by Roland in collaboration with Karimoku, a Japanese wood furniture manufacturer. At NAMM 2026, Roland will present the newest two models of the series. While they sport different designs, the KIYOLA KF-25 and KF-20 share the same technical details.

With its sharp lines and right angles, the Roland KIYOLA KF-25 pairs Japanese ‘wabi-sabi’ with the timeless functionality of Scandinavian furniture design – a symbiosis known as ‘Japandi’. The elegant Smoked Oak finish enhances the wood grain and highlights the instrument’s clean, linear appearance.

Needless to say, the technology under the hood is also top-notch. The physical-modeling-based sound engine (Piano Reality Modeling) offers full polyphony for the grand piano sounds. Other sounds feature 256 voices of polyphony. In total, the KF-25 includes 54 sounds, six of which can be selected on the instrument itself. The other sounds are accessible via the Roland Piano App.

The app also includes a Piano Designer feature that lets you fine-tune the grand piano sounds by adjusting parameters such as string, damper, and cabinet resonance, lid opening, key off and hammer noise, and many more. You can even adjust the tuning, volume, and character of individual keys.

The PHA 50 Hybrid hammer-action keyboard is equipped with escapement, ebony and ivory feel, and high-precision sensing for an authentic playing feel. The damper and soft pedals were also designed for exceptional realism and support continuous detection. The built-in speaker system puts out 2 × 24 watts.

The KF-20 sports a softer, more rounded design with smooth curves, which is inspired by the original KIYOLA model (KF-10). This piano is available in Pure Oak, Sheer White, Walnut, and Celadon Green finishes. The technical details are identical to the KF-25.
