Pro-Mod Plus So-Cal Style 1
Following last week’s release of the new signature model for Rick Graham, this week Charvel has announced a whole new range of guitars, the Pro-Mod Plus So-Cal Style 1, with shred-style designs and in two versions for guitarists who like modern playability.
These S-Style (Style 1), So-Cal (pickguards) models are a step above the standard models, and some have some great hit-rodded specs.

Fretboard Options
The Pro-Mod Plus So-Cal Style 1 models are built with a focus on performance and player comfort. They feature a caramelised maple neck and an optional ebony fretboard, both of which offer a slick, fast-playing feel.
The neck has a slim profile and a sculpted heel for a smooth transition to the body, making it easy to shred all the way up to the highest frets. For low-light situations on stage, Luminlay side dots glow in the dark, ensuring you never lose your place.
Equipped with a pair of Seymour Duncan Distortion humbuckers, these guitars deliver a powerful, rich tone perfect for high-gain rock and metal.
Floyd Rose or Hardtail
The Charvel Pro-Mod Plus So-Cal Style 1 HH FR CM and the Pro-Mod Plus So-Cal Style 1 HH FR EB are built for serious tremolo use.
Both models feature a Floyd Rose 1500 double-locking tremolo system, which keeps your tuning rock-solid no matter how much you dive-bomb, flutter, or get creative with the whammy bar. This lets you play with confidence, knowing your tuning will stay perfectly stable.
For players who prefer a simpler, more traditional setup, the Pro-Mod Plus So-Cal Style 1 HH HT E offers a different take. Instead of a classic Floyd Rose, this model features a Charvel-designed hardtail bridge. This not only provides excellent tuning stability but also contributes to a slightly different tonal character with more sustain and punch.

Finish Options
The Charvel Pro-Mod Plus So-Cal Style 1 HH FR CM is available in Blue Burst and Scorched Earth, while the Pro-Mod Plus So-Cal Style 1 HH FR EB is available in Snow White and Candy Apple Red. The latter features gold hardware. The hardtail version is also available in Ferrari Red and Scorched Earth.
